August 30, 2025 Trails linking Atomic City to St. Anthony Sand Dunes. An endurance ride taking about 12 hours and covering roughly 150 miles.
This event starts at 7:00 a.m. rather than the normal 10:00 a.m. start time. We start at Twin Buttes RV in Atomic City. Cost is $15 for the first off-road vehicle in your group and $10 for each additional. These trails can provide a challenging, endurance ride from Atomic City to the sand dunes outside of St. Anthony. The first half of these trails can be the most challenging, especially for those on 4 wheelers. Side by side vehicles are best suited for this ride. Grab some friends and come have a desert adventure.
Full hookup and dry site RV and glamping options available from Twin Buttes RV in Atomic City and Sand Box RV Park in St. Anthony. UTV rentals available from Side by Side Adventures. You will have some amazing views of the buttes as you ride desert trails in between Hells Half Acre and the Idaho National Laboratory. There are a variety of wildlife including pronghorn (antelope), jack and white tail rabbits, a wide variety of birds of prey, mule deer, and elk. Early morning rides are best for wildlife viewing. You may want to bring along a spotting scope and take a few short hikes off the trail to a hilltop to discover what is hidden from the trails. |
