Trails from Atomic City through the desert, near the twin buttes, and explore the junctions to the Atomic Run and Hell and Back. Enjoy great desert vistas with a great chance to see pronghorn in the early morning hours. This is a short and easy ride with plenty of time left for enjoying Cedar Butte or Thieves Pit.
The event begins at 10:00 a.m. at Twin Buttes RV in Atomic City. There is no cost for this event, but we do ask you to register. This helps us to better prepare for those who are coming and gathers your contact information so we can reach you for future events. Registration also provides you with free parking for the day. The trail goes east from Atomic City through the desert, past the twin buttes but outside of the INL boundaries. Trails vary from bumpy to decent, but are not the road type trails you will find west of Atomic City. Better suited for side by sides, but passable for 4 wheelers and other vehicles. These trails are more adventurous but not technically difficult. A short and fairly simple route to drive. Side by side rentals available through SxS Adventures. Full hookup, dry sites, and group camp areas are available at Twin Buttes RV Park. |
