Join us to experience trails from Atomic City to and around Craters of the Moon

Registration

The event begins at 10:00 a.m. at Twin Buttes RV in Atomic City.  There is no cost for this event, but we do ask you to register.  This helps us to better prepare for those who are coming and gathers your contact information so we can reach you for future events. Registration also provides you with free parking for the day.

Most direct route using good trails view of all sides of the Big Southern Butte

This route was posted to the community by a member of the public.  We do not recommend crossing into Craters of the Moon.​

 
You can explore hundreds of miles of desert trails from Arco, to Aberdeen.  While we cannot ride in Craters of the Moon, the trails ride right up to it and use binoculars or a spotting scope to look over the eastern area of Craters of the Moon. 

See beautiful views of the open desert spotted with buttes with the Big Southern Butte ever present as you see it from every angel in a big loop through the desert.  If you are lucky, you will see some great wildlife including elk, mule deer, pronghorn, and sage grouse.

These trails are also close to the Big Southern Butte and Cedar Butte if you want to include those rides.​
