To Hell and Back (Hell's Half Acre)

Trails from Atomic City through the desert, past the twin buttes, to Hell's Half Acre lava flows. Enjoy great desert vistas with a great chance to see pronghorn in the early morning hours. Bring your own lunch and eat during our break at Hell's Half Acre.
The event begins at 10:00 a.m. at Twin Buttes RV in Atomic City. There is no cost for this event, but we do ask you to register. This helps us to better prepare for those who are coming and gathers your contact information so we can reach you for future events. Registration also provides you with free parking for the day. The trail goes east from Atomic City through the desert, past the twin buttes north of Moreland and Blackfoot into Hells Half Acre lava flow. Trails vary from bumpy to decent, but are not the road type trails you will find west of Atomic City. Better suited for side by sides, but passable for 4 wheelers and other vehicles. These trails are more adventurous but not technically difficult. Some rolling hills, but a fairly simple route to drive. Side by side rentals available through SxS Adventures. Full hookup, dry sites, and group camp areas are available at Twin Buttes RV Park. |
